Prior to forming Strategic Behavioral Health, Jim Shaheen served as CEO of Compass Intervention Center (108 bed RTC/Memphis, TN), a subsidiary of Keystone Education and Youth Services. He also served as CEO of Coastal Harbor Treatment Center (113 bed Psychiatric Hospital/ Savannah, GA). Mr. Shaheen has over 24 years of behavioral healthcare experience in a variety of settings such as acute, residential, and outpatient services. He has successfully led multiple behavioral healthcare systems to increased quality and profitability. Mr. Shaheen holds a Masters Degree in Organizational Communications from Murray State University and Bachelors Degree in Therapeutic Recreation also from Murray State University.
Executive Vice-President of Operations[email hidden]
Doug Ginn joined Strategic Behavioral Health as Vice President of Clinical Services and Compliance. He is now Executive Vice-President of Operations. Doug began his career in behavioral health in 1985 as a community counselor at Lakeside Behavioral Health System. He worked at Lakeside for over 10 years in various clinical positions including Administrator of Child and Adolescent Services. Doug then went into private practice for twelve years and opened Ginn & Associates in Germantown, TN. After private practice Doug returned to Lakeside as the Chief Clinical Officer with clinical oversight of a 305 bed Behavioral Health System as well as a full continuum of care. Doug graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1987 and the University of Tennessee with a Master's of Science in Social Work in 1994. He is licensed in TN as a Clinical Social Worker. As Executive Vice-President he will oversee all operations at Strategic Behavioral Health's facilities.
Vice President of Human Resources[email hidden]
Tony Harper joined Strategic Behavioral Health's executive team as Vice President of Human Resources in 2011. Mr. Harper has 25+ years of experience within the behavioral health industry, coupled with a unique clinical, hospital/RTC operations and human resource management background. Tony received his Masters of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Human Resources Management from City University of Seattle, and Bachelors in Human Behavior from Newport University. He holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Society for Human Resources Management.
Vice President of Clinical Services[email hidden]
Will Adams is the Vice President of Clinical Services and is responsible for the clinical integrity of our therapeutic programs. Will transitioned to the home office as the former Facility Director and Chief Operations Officer at SBH's Colorado facility. Prior to joining SBH, Will was the coordinator of an Adult Outpatient Program and the Director of an Child and Adolescent unit. Will is earning his doctorate in Counseling Psychology and has a masters' in both business and in psychology. Will has over a decade of experience in mental health with experience in working with the VA, university counseling centers, non-profit public health agencies, and psychiatric hospitals.
Exec. Dir. of Milieu Management[email hidden]
Before joining SBH, Mr. Peete had worked for over 25 years in the psychiatric healthcare field. Most recently Clyde has worked as the Director of Milieu Management for Lakeside Behavioral Health System in Memphis, TN. He has specialized throughout his career on developing staff's understanding in managing a therapeutic environment. Clyde has held various positions in the past including; Principal of Alternative School, Director of Milieu Management, Program Coordinator for Child/Adolescent Services, Dual Diagnosis Counselor, Shift Coordinator, as well as Recreational Therapist. He has also been responsible for staff development and training of a 305 bed facility behavioral health system. Being an advocate for the improvement and quality of life that individuals, families and communities can obtain through using techniques associated behavioral management and environment has been his passion. Clyde graduated from Rust College in 1979 with Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education. He has been a licensed trainer in CPI, PMAB, and HWC.
Director of Milieu Management[email hidden]
Stan Howell, Director of Milieu Management for Strategic Behavioral Health, began his career working with children right out of college as a program director with the YMCA of Memphis. He then moved to the Area Health Education Center (AHEC) where he ran programs for youth both in the local school systems and in the surrounding communities. After working nine years with that agency, he worked with Memphis City Schools as an assistant Principal with a local high school. During that time he was doing double duty as a community counselor with a local behavioral health facility. While there he was promoted to Milieu Manager, where he served for the next seven years. From there he went on to work at a local hospital as the night supervisor in the behavioral health department. He realized that working in the behavioral health field was his passion and has wanted to do nothing else since. He graduated from Mississippi State in1979 with a degree in Health Education.

Tamara Walk, MSHL, Strategic Behavioral Health's Director of Compliance, has over 10 years of experience in design, implementation and maintenance of health care compliance programs. Prior to joining SBH, Tamara served as Compliance and Quality Assurance Manager for Meharry Medical College where she managed the daily operational activities of the Corporate Compliance Program. She has also served as Compliance Specialist at ZLB Plasma Services, Inc. and as a Compliance Officer for Delta Health Center, Inc., where she was responsible for overall leadership, direction, and implementation of compliance and quality programs. Tamara has a Master of Science degree in Health Law, Legal Regulatory Compliance from Nova Southeastern University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration and Planning from Tennessee State University and Meharry Medical College.
Nurse Executive[email hidden]
Lyle Reece-Gardner joined Strategic Behavior Health in 2012 in the role of Nurse Executive and oversees all nursing operations at Strategic Behavioral Health. Before joining SBH, Ms. Reece worked in the health care field for 20+ years. During this time she held various roles in the healthcare arena including; Director of Nursing, Program Director, Case Manager Coordinator, Utilization Management Coordinator, Health Services Administrator, Emergency Department Manager as well as Chest Pain Center Manager. Lyle has also been instrumental in developing and implementing EMR's in the Acute Care and Behavioral Health Field. Lyle received her nursing degree from East Tennessee State University and Health Care Management Degree from Fairmont State Community College.
Mr. McClurg is the Controller for Strategic Behavioral Health. Alan's experience with healthcare facilities started in 1988 while working for a national CPA firm in Memphis. During that time he was the lead auditor for several Medicaid funded nursing homes and a hospital in Missouri. Alan served the behavioral health community in a financial capacity from 1997 to 2005 as either a controller or chief financial officer for two other companies. Most recently, he served the Memphis Health Center as both the Controller, and then the interim Chief Financial Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Arkansas State University and passed the Uniform Examination for Certified Public Accountants in 1991. Alan oversees all of the day-to-day financial operations for all the Strategic Behavioral Health companies.
Director of Environment of Care/IT[email hidden]
Rob joined SBH in May 2012, where he was initially hired as Environmental Services Director for Peak View Behavioral Health in Colorado Springs. He has over 20 years of experience in the IT arena having worked in a variety of business disciplines including, commercial property development, oil and gas, public safety, and consumer goods. In his IT career he has served as network engineer, database administrator, programmer/analyst, and ultimately as corporate IT Director. Prior to joining SBH Rob worked extensively for Nestlé Prepared Foods in the development, construction, and management of commercial office buildings, warehouses, and production sites. During this time he was also involved in nationwide projects implementing Process Improvement Initiatives, Quality Management Systems, and obtaining ISO certifications for production facilities. Rob attended the University of Colorado where he studied Computer Sciences and Electrical Engineering.

Rodger Paxton, MCP, Security+, has over a decade of experience in the Information Technology field and comes to Strategic Behavioral Health as the Network Manager. Having specialized in Microsoft software, Security, Disaster Recovery, Server Virtualization, and Storage Area Networks, Rodger is bringing new technologies to Strategic that will help prepare and propel its ability to securely and effectively use technology to the benefit of the patients and staff as the company expands. He comes to Strategic after 7 years as the Senior Network Administrator and Project Manager for a Memphis transportation company. Rodger has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Network Systems from ITT Technology.

Since 1994, Mr. Orians has overseen the accounting infrastructure for numerous privately-held businesses as a member of Dobbs Management Services (DMS). Prior to joining DMS, Mr. Orians practiced accounting for nine (9) years at Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck, a Memphis accounting firm with concentration in accounting and auditing for wholesale distribution, financial services firms, and manufacturers; and consulting, design, and implementation of accounting information systems. Mr. Orians graduated with a B.B.A. from Memphis State University.

Prior to joining SBH, Mr. Crosby has had a combination of investment banking, strategy consulting and operations experience. Mr. Crosby worked in the M&A group at Lehman Brothers and as a Principal at The Parthenon Group, a strategic advisory firm. He has served as VP of Operations at Thomas & Betts and VP of Supply Chain at Mueller Industries. Currently Mr. Crosby is Vice President overseeing private equity investments for Dobbs Management Services. Mr. Crosby earned a B.B.A degree in business from Millsaps College and an M.B.A. from The Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
Bill Lawson, JD, LLM,CPA

Since 1996, Mr. Lawson has supervised business investments as Vice President of Dobbs Management Service (DMS), a private investment firm. Prior to joining DMS, Mr. Lawson spent over 20 years practicing law at two Memphis firms including The Bogatin Law Firm, which he co-founded. Mr. Lawson served on the Memphis State University Foundation Board including service as the investment committee chair. Mr. Lawson has a B.B.A. and a J.D. from Memphis State University and a L.L.M in Taxation from New York University.
Executive Assistant to Jim Shaheen[email hidden]
Ms. Klein has been with Strategic Behavioral Health since shortly after its inception in 2006. She is the Executive Assistant to the President, Jim Shaheen. Before joining Strategic Behavioral Health, she served as Mr. Shaheen's assistant at Compass Intervention Center. Ms. Klein has over ten (10) years of experience in behavioral healthcare supporting executive management teams. She has over twenty five (25) years of experience in office administration and management at the Executive level.
