Jim Shaheen

President


Jim Shaheen - President Prior to forming Strategic Behavioral Health, Jim Shaheen served as CEO of Compass Intervention Center (108 bed RTC/Memphis, TN), a subsidiary of Keystone Education and Youth Services. He also served as CEO of Coastal Harbor Treatment Center (113 bed Psychiatric Hospital/ Savannah, GA) Mr. Shaheen has over 23 years of behavioral healthcare experience in a variety of settings such as acute, residential, and outpatient services. He has successfully led multiple behavioral healthcare systems to increased quality and profitability. Mr. Shaheen holds a Masters Degree in Organizational Communications from Murray State University and a Bachelors Degree in Therapeutic Recreation also from Murray State University.



Doug Ginn

Executive Vice-President of Operations


Doug Ginn - Executive Vice-President of Operations Doug Ginn, LCSW, joined Strategic Behavioral Health as Vice President of Clinical Services and Compliance. He has since been promoted to Executive Vice-President of Operations. Doug began his career in behavioral health in 1985 as a community counselor at Lakeside Behavioral Health System. He worked at Lakeside for over 10 years in various clinical positions including Administrator of Child and Adolescent Services. Doug then left Lakeside and was in private practice for twelve years and opened Ginn & Associates in Germantown, TN. After private practice Doug returned to Lakeside as the Chief Clinical Officer with clinical oversight of a 305 bed Behavioral Health System as well as a full continuum of care. Doug graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1987 and the University of Tennessee with a Master’s of Science in Social Work in 1994. He is licensed in Tennessee as a Clinical Social Worker. Doug and his family live in Somerville, Tennessee. Doug has vast experience in program development including Acute Care Hospitalization, Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization, In-Home Crisis Intervention, Intensive Outpatient and Respite Care programs. As Vice President of Operations, Doug oversees all of the facilities at Strategic Behavioral Health.



Clyde Peete

Director of Milieu Management


Clyde Peete - Director of Milieu Management Before joining SBH, Mr. Peete had worked for over 25 years in the psychiatric healthcare field. Most recently Clyde has worked as the Director of Milieu Management for Lakeside Behavioral Health System in Memphis, Tennessee. Clyde has specialized throughout his career on developing staff's understanding in managing a therapeutic environment. Clyde has held various positions in the past including; Principal of Alternative School, Director of Milieu Management, Program Coordinator for Child/Adolescent Services, Dual Diagnosis Counselor, Shift Coordinator, as well as Recreational Therapist. He has also been responsible for staff development and training of a 305 bed facility. Being an advocate for the improvement and quality of life that individuals, families and communities can obtain through using techniques associated behavioral management and environment has been his passion. Clyde graduated from Rust College in 1979 with Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education. He has been a licensed trainer in CPI, PMAB, and HWC. He and his family live in Memphis, Tennessee.




Tony Harper

Vice President of Human Resources


Tony Harper - Vice President of Human Resources Tony Harper is the newest member of Strategic Behavioral Health's executive team as Vice President of Human Resources. Mr. Harper has 25+ years of experience within the behavioral health industry, coupled with a unique clinical, hospital/RTC operations and human resource management background. Tony received his Masters of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Human Resources Management from City University of Seattle, and Bachelors in Human Behavior from Newport University. He holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Society for Human Resources Management.



Tamara Walk

Director of Compliance


Tamara Walk - Director of Compliance Tamara Walk, MSHL, Strategic Behavioral Health's Director of Compliance, has over 10 years of experience in design, implementation and maintenance of health care compliance programs. Prior to joining SBH, Tamara served as Compliance and Quality Assurance Manager for Meharry Medical College where she managed the daily operational activities of the Corporate Compliance Program. She ensured that the institution complied with state and federal regulatory requirements and mandates and made certain that internal controls were in place to reduce risk and liability. She has also served as Compliance Specialist at ZLB Plasma Services, Inc. and as a Compliance Officer for Delta Health Center, Inc., where she was responsible for overall leadership, direction, and implementation of compliance and quality programs. Tamara has a Master of Science degree in Health Law, Legal Regulatory Compliance from Nova Southeastern University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration and Planning from Tennessee State University and Meharry Medical College.



Lyle Reece

Nurse Executive


Lyle Reece-Gardner joined Strategic Behavior Health in 2012 in the role of Nurse Executive and oversees all of nursing operations at Strategic Behavior Health. Before joining SBH, Ms. Reece worked in the health care field for 20+ years.  During this time she has fulfilled many roles in the healthcare arena including; Director of Nursing, Program Director, Case Manager Coordinator, Utilization Management Coordinator, Health Services Administrator, Emergency Department Manager as well as Chest Pain Center Manager. Lyle has also been instrumental in developing and implementing EMR's in the Acute Care and Behavioral Health Field.  Lyle received her nursing degree from East Tennessee State University and Health Care Management Degree from Fairmont State Community College. 





Alan McClurg

Controller


Alan McClurg - Controller Mr. McClurg is the Controller for Strategic Behavioral Health. Alan's experience with healthcare facilities started in 1988 while working for a national CPA firm in Memphis. During that time he was the lead auditor for several Medicaid funded nursing homes and a hospital in Missouri. Alan served the behavioral health community in a financial capacity from 1997 to 2005 as either a controller or chief financial officer for two other companies. Most recently, he served the Memphis Health Center as both the Controller, and then the interim Chief Financial Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Arkansas State University and passed the Uniform Examination for Certified Public Accountants in 1991. Alan oversees all of the day-to-day financial operations for all the Strategic Behavioral Health companies.



Rodger Paxton

Network Manager


Rodger Paxton - Network Manager Rodger Paxton, MCP, Security+, has over a decade of experience in the Information Technology field and comes to Strategic Behavioral Health as the Network Manager. Having specialized in Microsoft software, Security, Disaster Recovery, Server Virtualization, and Storage Area Networks, Rodger is bringing new technologies to Strategic that will help prepare and propel its ability to securely and effectively use technology to the benefit of the patients and staff as the company expands. He comes to Strategic after 7 years as the Senior Network Administrator and Project Manager for a Memphis transportation company. Rodger has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Network Systems from ITT Technology. He and his family live in Marion, AR.



Renee Klein

Executive Assistant to Jim Shaheen


Renee Klein - Executive Assistant to Jim Shaheen Ms. Klein has been with Strategic Behavioral Health since its inception in 2006. She is the Executive Assistant to the President, Jim Shaheen. Before joining Strategic Behavioral Health, she served as Mr. Shaheen's assistant at Compass Intervention Center. Ms. Klein has over 8 years of experience in behavioral healthcare supporting executive management teams. She has over 25 years experience in office administration and management at the Executive level.
