If there’s one thing that continues to be very clear as we move forward in the 21st century, it’s that mental and behavioral health issues are continuing to grow. That is why the opening of the brand new Clear View Behavioral Health psychiatric hospital is being viewed as a fantastic step towards helping to eliminate these issues in the Northern Colorado region.
The 92-bed acute psychiatric hospital is just one out of ten other mental health facilities that Strategic Behavioral Health operates nationwide. Located at 4770 Larimer Parkway in Johnston, CO, the goal of opening this location was the realization that the Northeastern part of Colorado was severely lacking in terms of available psychiatric beds for all age ranges.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony, on October 29, took place with a host of individuals on the scene: families of those battling mental health issues, company officials and multiple high-ranking officials from the state department of Colorado. The group also contained multiple representatives mental health, medical and senior care facilities throughout the region.
Ty Meredith, the director of business development for both the Colorado Springs and Johnstown locations, stated that pretty much every inpatient program was maxed out in the Northern Colorado region up to this point. She also stated “We have had multiple calls and emails from patients and family members” regarding the opening. Suffice to say, the opening of the Clear View facility has been sorely needed in this region.
The state of Colorado has actually risen to 7th in the nation with 1,058 suicides for 2014. Ultimately, this is an issue that has required major attention, and Strategic Behavioral Health has stepped up to fill this void within the state. In fact, several years back at the announcement of the Clear View facility, Strategic Behavioral Health CEO Jim Shaheen had stated that he formed the company in 2006 in order to build new psychiatric hospitals, “because no one has built any in 20 to 30 years”.
In our modern world where mental and behavioral issues continue to rise, it is more important than ever that patients suffering from these types of issues have the ability to seek out the help and treatment needed in order to get better. The opening of Clear View Behavioral Health is the first step towards patients and families piecing their lives back together.
